Recto Avenue (formerly Azcarraga), Legarda Avenue, Mendiola Street and the different side streets. Each of the colleges and universities found here are at a short walking distance of each other.

A second terminal, Terminal 2 (or the Centennial Terminal) opened in October 1999. The International flag-carrier Philippine Airlines now uses this terminal exclusively for both its domestic and international service while all other international flights use the original NAIA terminal. The construction of a third terminal (NAIA-3) has been completed and was just recently opened. It currently houses the domestic flights of Cebu Pacific, Air Asia and PAL express and is set to operate international flights within the year. The main carrier serving NAIA is Philippine Airlines, which has the most extensive network in the Philippines.

Laguna de Bay (English translation: "Lake of Bay" commonly called as "Laguna Lake") is the largest lake in the Philippines and the 2nd largest inland freshwater lake in Southeast Asia after Lake Toba in Sumatra, Indonesia. It is located in the island of Luzon between the provinces of Laguna to the south and Rizal to the north. Metro Manila lies on its western shore. Its surface area is 949 square kilometers and has an average depth of only about 2 meters. The lake is shaped like a stylised 'W', with two peninsulas jutting out from the northern shore. Between these peninsulas, the middle lobe fills a large volcanic caldera. Laguna de Bay drains to Manila Bay via the Pasig River. The lake is filled with fish pens installed by fishermen who regularly fish there.
Luzon is the largest and most economically and politically important island in the Philippines and one of the three island groups in the country, with Visayas and Mindanao being the other two. Luzon as an island group includes the island of Luzon itself, plus the Batanes and Babuyan groups of islands to the north, and the main and outlying islands of Catanduanes, Marinduque, Masbate, Romblon, and Mindoro in the south.
