Born October 6, 1970, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA,

Sarah Straton was rated among the AVP tour's top 10 for 3 categories in terms of achievements in 2006, including 4th for blocks.

She couldn't play in her 1st 3 events in 05 as of being pregnant, then ended that year rated 7th for blocks.

2001, saw Sarah win the 1st ever big victory of her career, while at Muskegon, while playing with Linda Hanley. They were the AVP's most disadvantagously seeded lady's team to win a AVP event, as a equal 7th seed, and were the most elderly in terms of combined age to win a professional event, alligned they reached 71 years and 10 1/2 months.

For the 2000 Sydney Olympics, she competed for Australia with Annette Huygens Tholen, at the time she lived in Western Australia, and enjoyed hiking, sailing, and scuba diving there.

Now her and her husband who works with Beach Volleyball Television crews, live in California, but she still retains dual Australian - US citizenship.

She has a son and a daughter, and a older sister, and if she was not playing volleyball she would like to be a personal trainer, as she did graduate with a degree to do with sports. Her fave food is chocolate. She has also finished 3rd on 2 occasions. for combined international and USA events.
