Many established companies are on publ;ic stock exchanges like Londons or New York, and they have rules which affect their companies as of this, and you can see their share price rise and fall in the stockmarket on internet sites and in the papers. There have been shares for a long time, in Brotain for at kleast a couple of centuries, I think first ones had systems to establish them, maybe the closest thing in Roman Times, was one family member owning half a company and a other a other half, or maybe one sold his half or half it, so all new someone had a certain percenmt but now we have stock exchanges they grew out of things like coffee and agricultral marts in big cities, in places like the sheep exchange or that of other products. I have some shares, but not that mkuch, you can buy some via some methods, and some onlione.
