Trinidad and Tobago's history is that of a Carribean island.

It saw first of all people arriving in 7000BC,. who are nicknamed Archaic or Ortoiroid, probably coming from northeastern South America, such as Venezuala. One important site is Banwari Trace which is the oldest human settlement in the east Caribbean. The Archaic populations were pre-ceramic, In 250 BC ceramic-using people, the Saladoid people, came. These people are said to have come from South America, from the Orinoco River in Venezuela. They then headed north occupying other isles. After 250 AD the Barrancoid people are supposed to have come to southern Trinidad. aslo coming up the Orinoco toward the sea. From 650 AD, the Arauquinoid came up the river to the coast.

In 1300 AD new people came, the Mayoid, of new pottery including the Nepoya and Suppoya, seemibngly Arawak-speaking, and Yao Carib-speaking, Then in 1492 Columbus reached the Americas. this saw Spanish colonisers push locals into forms of slavery. Few survivors organised into Missions by Capuchin friars, and assimilated. Small groups still survive.

Columbus named Trinidad after the Trinty Hills, 3 hills, or as he just wanted to name the next isle he saw after the Holy Trinity. Salves were often used in pearl fisheries by teh Spanis Kingdom's coolonsiers. Proper Spanish settl;ements were not started to the sixteenth centuery, normally missions, for locals.

In 1699 100s of Trinidadian locals were killed in a mini war. for masscring some priests, who had led teh local slaving.. http://www.centrelink.org/arena.htm

Trindad's people saw a assembly start in 1925, for teh rich, then in 1946 universal suffrage.

Along with the rest of the Carribean there were labour riots in teh 1930s, which saw deaths across the region, and the establishment of unions, to bring in more democracy.

The Radical British Empire Citizens' and Workers' Home Rule Party, of Butler was first place in the elections, of 1946, and teh 1950s, then saw the British ask rival to form eth governm, ent fearing hjim as a radical. A conservative style Party founded in 1955, and won elections for 30 yeras. There were boycotts in the 1971, election. Then party members joined the opposition, reviving them.
