The Lonympics Venus Colonisation Site
The Lonympics plan for the colonisation of Venus would be.
People always say that Mars and the Moon are the best places for a colony. I would say that Venus would be a good choice too. As a rock planet, not that far from Earth, and bigger than Mars and the Moon, it would be highly suitable.
A taking of 100 Billion dollars from the world.
Then to invest this in a scheme
Start sending weapons, and chemicals to Venus which turn Venus into a different climates, atom bombs, and more can force a 50 year project, to change the environment of Venus.
Over a long period this would then cause a colony with a population increasing from 100s to 1000s over some centuries, sending mineral resources to Earth.
We could have a huge investment caused by taking 10% of all people's incomes, mostly the rich, and by 20 years have 2 million people living on an Earth-like Venus in a fantasy.
Maybe terraforming could be long term making a atmosphere.
Or we could have the greenhouse style method colonies just in some parts of Venus.
Or maybe a space station above Venus of 1000s using Venus resources ruining the planet even more, increasing the size of the space station.
Or maybe changing the atmosphere, and building giant greenhouses, that are self preserving. Using space weapons to shoot down asteroids.
At times volcanic eruptions on Venus may send dust up that reaches Earth or Mars or Moon colonies, heard on the Universe weather forcast after the Space News.
You could have capitals named after people, like Armstrongtown, Aldrinville etc etc.
So the whole planet could be surrouned by a greenhouse of plastic, or by many warrens of them interlinked surrounding, so if a steroid hit of huge size, which would be unlikely as it could be shot down beforehand, then it would cause no bad effect. Added to this you could have just many glass houses, with glass houses linking roads to each glass house dotted around the Planet. There could be loads of these glass houses dotted around with people leaving in space suits to get resources maybe food that could even grow in the changed environment or in flatter greenouses or underground places. The Giant glass houses could be like big cities in Europe in t5he Medieval era, dotted around teh landscape sometimes with spires rising far away high while teh rest of teh area was flat, and here teh glass house complexex could be 10s or 1000s of metres high.
