The Scottish League is the third oldest league in the world, in football.

This site says why Scottish teams should not join the English league.

And why they certainly should not join the English premiership.

Scotland is a country and it's people have felt they are for centuries so surely Scotland needs a league.

If we considered ourselves English then it may be ok to join the English league but we do not do so.

The Scottish League is the only big national symbol Scotland has.

Football is Scotland's national sport and really all other psorts including rugby are way down the list on subjects of sport pages,

so the fact Scotland puts it's national energy into football so much, helps reduce any badness in Scottish nationalism,

by making it focus on bad things like race, or war, or that kind of thing.

And helps surely add to the civil Scottish nationalism, that Scotland has.

Anyhow we can see that Scotland's league has been very succesful.

It has higher gates per head of population than any nation.

And every team you look is more sucesful than if they were in the English League,

Look at compared to Wales. Wales has 3 teams in the English League and every on

has amounted to one English Cup, and a charity shield, and 1 club in a European semi final

Whereas Scotland has won 3 European proper trohies, 1 super cup, 3 world club championships,

and a few more european runner ups.

This is nopt an attack on Welsh football, but if being in the English League is so great how come,

Cardiff and Swansea have never done that much.

So the fact is the gates proove Scottish football is more fun than the rest of the world.

And the statisticts proove more sucesful than any other land per head.

8 Scottish teams have reached European Semi Finals, teams like kilmarnock, and Dunfermline,

in places with smaller populations than the capacity of Old Trafford.

Scotland has won 3 European Trophies, England has won 28, It should be 31 English and Welsh European

trophies put together, if their league is soooo much better, but per head head they have won, less.

And that with super cups it is 4-35 or 4-3.5 to Scotland,

Then in terms of world trophies and such it should be 7-77, instead 7-3.

So people who say Celtic will join the premiership, or Rangers should join the English Premiership, or Hearts should leave the Scottish league are wrong. or that Kilmarnockm should join the Championship, When Gretna played in England they were non league, when they joined the miracle that is the Scottish League they became a team so good they could enter competitions where they got the same results in tournaments as PSG had.

Why not add Icelandic, Faeroe Islands, and Isle of Man, to the League Cup, to make it a even bigger trophy to win. aswell as Junior Teams of Course.
